Amazing results occurr when ponds on any scale mature into the landscape or space as each year passes. Over 3 years ago, we were contracted to create a smaller-scale water garden design to complement the contours of what was then new construction up in the Saratoga area of NY.
This customer had a Koi pond previously and after moving to this new location - preferred to have the focus be on aquatic & marginal plants that will play off of landscape selections.
How It Began:
A Balcony View
Enjoyable from not only the patio, but the four season enclosed balcony of the house - this pond delights with sight & sound for the home owner, his dogs, guests, and abundant wildlife that visits this serene spot.
The massive amount of plant life keeps this now established pond in perfect shape during the peak of the season despite heavy sun exposure. The biggest maintenance being a labor of love the homeowner- meticulously maintaining the plants and their arrangement/ density in and around the pond. This process creates nutrient export producing crystal clear water making it easy to enjoy this pond.
